May 9, 2007 was a travel day for me - from Lansing Michigan to my home in the northwest corner of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It’s a 500 mile trip. Podcasts help make the trip better.
My new Canon Elura 100 (mini DV video camera) in my right hand, and the steering wheel in my left, I shot this video as I crossed the Mackinac Bridge heading north. While I was taping, I was also catching up on Adam Curry’s “Daily Source Code,” episode 596. It started out with the lovely Lady Patricia (Paay), and the Star Sisters Remix 2007, which was released to the Podsafe Music Network soon after.
If you’ve never been on the Mackinac Bridge, you miss out on the contrast between human development and nature; of a large stretch of water in a rural landscape spanned by a 5 mile long superstructure that replaced car ferries in 1957. I remember crossing this bridge many times all the way back to childhood. Each crossing is an experience that I doubt I could adequately describe. This video is merely an impression of the experience.
Audio takes a back seat once again. But I saved room for you in the passenger seat. Join me?
The video file available here is about 9 minutes and approximately 35 megabytes. It’s in widescreen format. If you prefer a smaller file, feel free to visit my page at Podshow, and play the smaller scaled version or download it from there.
Hope you enjoy!
