Someone sent me a YouTube video link to a “man in the street” interview. You’ve seen this bit done before on comedy programs. People on the street in the USA are asked simple questions about such things as Iraq, war, and geography. Why am I irritated that I can correctly answer these questions when the interviewees cannot? Should I be frustrated that a sample (albeit anything but random, no doubt) of Americans are ignorant about so much? Or, should I question myself for having taken the time to be informed? These people probably have more fun than I do. Who knows, maybe their priorities are in better order than mine.
